Fewpips requires a stop-loss (SL) and a take-profit (TP) on funded trading, but exactly when the requirement kicks in depends on your account type. Get it wrong and an otherwise clean trade can count against you at audit. Here is the rule, split by product.
Instant Accounts: SL and TP on Every Trade
All Instant accounts, both CFD and Future Based CFD, are funded from the moment you purchase them. There is no evaluation phase to clear first. Because they are live funded accounts from day one, a stop-loss and a take-profit must be placed on every trade. Make it a habit: no SL and TP, no valid trade.
1/2/3-Step Accounts: Funded Phase Only
On evaluation accounts (1-Step, 2-Step, 3-Step) the SL and TP requirement is not active during the challenge phase. You can trade the evaluation without them. The moment your account passes and is upgraded to funded, the SL and TP requirement applies to every trade from that point on.
Why the Requirement Exists
Mandatory stops and targets protect both sides. They keep a single trade from running away past your loss limits, and they demonstrate defined risk on every position, which is exactly what the audit looks for. Pair this with the 2% per-trade loss limit and your risk is capped by design.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a stop-loss during a Fewpips challenge?
Not on 1/2/3-Step evaluation accounts during the challenge phase. The stop-loss and take-profit requirement applies the moment the account passes and becomes funded. On all Instant accounts, SL and TP are required on every trade from purchase.
Does the SL and TP rule apply to Instant accounts?
Yes. All Instant accounts, CFD and Future Based CFD, are funded from purchase, so a stop-loss and a take-profit are mandatory on every trade.
Is a take-profit really required, not just a stop-loss?
Yes. On funded trading both a stop-loss and a take-profit are required on the trade.
